What does Operation Silent Night mean for pets in Richmond?

RICHMOND, VA — Volunteers from the Richmond Animal League (RAL) prepared the lights for a Thursday night event where the public can honor and remember pets and pet lovers.

A Christmastime tradition coincides with RAL’s 13th annual Operation Silent Night.

“So far during Operation Silent Night we have sent 211 adoptable pets home and found new loving families just in time for the holidays,” said a RAL spokesperson.

Operation Silent Night aims to clean up shelters for the holidays by lowering adoption fees and finding foster homes for pets to enjoy the holidays.

“We were still taking in pets that needed our help. So we were not only adopting our pets from our shelter, we were also pulling those pets,” a RAL spokesperson said. who needed our help from our animal control partners across the state.”

If you’d like to support the cause, there are only a few days left in the 2023 tax-deductible giving season. You can volunteer or donate Here.
