If you register your dogs and cats with the City of Stratford early, you can potentially avoid fines.

All dogs and cats in Stratford must wear registration tags at all times and those tags expire on 31 December each year. Proceeds from pet tags go to the Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo and Stratford Perth, which helps fund its programs and services. provides.

If purchased before March 1, tags for modified pets are $20, with a $17 senior discount. Non-eligible pets cost $50, with a senior discount of $42.50.

Pets under one year old are the same price as replacement pets.

If purchased after March 1, tags for modified pets are $30, with a senior discount of $25.50.

Non-convertible pets cost $60, with a $51 senior discount.

Pets under one year old are not affected by the date difference.

2024 Pet Tags are now available for purchase. They can be purchased at the humane society and at the clerk’s office at Stratford City Hall.
