NOVELTY, Ohio — Dog and cat adoption fees at the Rescue Village Animal Shelter in Geauga County will be fully covered until further notice thanks to a generous grant from a Cleveland-based pet insurance company.

Embrace pet insurance. Awarded $20,000 to Rescue Village as part of its overall corporate commitment to support organizations that encourage animal adoption and address overpopulation issues.

“Giving back to our community is central to who we are at Embrace, especially at a time of year when finances can be stressful for many,” said Embrace President Brian Macias. “We don’t want to cost prohibit any family from adopting a new furry friend during the holidays, or prevent a pet parent from getting a necessary procedure for their dog or cat because it’s on their budget list. There are many other things.”

As part of its “Embrace the Love” holiday campaign, Embrace is supporting Rescue Village, a nonprofit organization in the community of Novelty that provides shelter, medical care, and Finds homes for abused and homeless pets. Embrace’s gift will fund all adoption fees for cats and dogs at the facility until the entire donation is used, in hopes of making it easier for potential pet parents to take a pet home and rescue. The donation also covers a portion of the medical care needed for the animals at the Rescue Village prior to adoption, ensuring they are healthy and ready for their new homes.

“Each year, Rescue Village takes in more than 2,000 animals and provides full veterinary care to each animal, including spay and neuter surgery,” noted Rescue Village Executive Director Kenneth Clark. “With so many homeless animals in need, this partnership with Embrace Pet Insurance encourages people to adopt, and it helps the humane society while preparing these pets for success in their new adoptive homes. Helps defray some of the veterinary costs.”

In an effort to raise awareness about Grant, Embrace and the Cleveland Browns participated in a volunteer day at Rescue Village on Tuesday. Several Browns employees, as well as team great Hanford Dixon, lent their support this holiday season to inspire others to do the same.
