“Our local investment is just one part of our strategy to empower animal lovers to join us in driving life-saving change,” Kogut added. We recently launched Petko lost love.a national lost and found database that uses pet image technology to make finding lost pets easier.
“Petco Love grant funding plays an important role in helping us care for the thousands of animals that come through our doors annually,” said Kogut.
“Medical treatment, spay and neutering, vaccinations, and providing resources to keep pets and families together are part of our mission, and we really couldn’t do it without Petco Love’s support,” said MHS Executive Director Nikki Cruickshank. Couldn’t do that.”

MHS Pets of the Week brought to you by Petco Love:
White Derp A 1.5 year old goofy male pit mix with a very goofy personality who can’t wait to entertain you with his antics. He is always ready to play and would be a great adventure buddy to bring on a walk. He does great with other dogs, and we think he would love a home with a canine friend. It would need to be adopted in an area without breed restrictions.
tie A 7-year-old neutered male husky is an independent boy who marches to the beat of his own drum. She is looking for a home where she can enjoy her golden years doing the things she loves most. When in a playgroup, Ty is quite aloof and prefers being together to playing. We think he would do well in a home with another relaxed, mellow dog who enjoys the company of others. Ties will need regular grooming to keep their coat in tip-top shape.
Gigi is a 2.5 year old female German Shepherd looking for an experienced owner to help her come out of her shell. Her trust needs to be earned, and once we know that she will be a very loyal companion. With a patient owner, his true personality will shine through.
stone Speed is a 2-year-old female boxer mix who is very friendly and energetic. She can be a little unsure when interacting with other dogs and we believe this is due to lack of experience and socialization. Since he is selective with his canine companions, meet and greets are recommended.
MHS is open on weekdays from noon to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. MHS will be closed for staff meetings on Wednesday, January 17.
