QCA Hy-Vees Pet Products Collection in honor of Betty White

MOLINE, Ill. — Hy-Vee stores in the Quad Cities area are stocking pet food and products in honor of longtime actress and animal welfare advocate Betty White.

Called the #BettyWhiteChallenge, Hy-Vee stories throughout the Quad Cities, North Scott and Clinton will be accepting donations. Quad City Animal Welfare Center And in Milan Humane Society of Scott County. The campaign started on Monday, January 8, and will continue until Sunday, January 14.

Here are some products that animal shelters have on their wish lists:

  • Wet dog or dog food
  • Wet kitten food
  • Purina puppy and puppy chow (preferably a non-pig mix)
  • Purina Cat and Kitten Chow
  • Lickable/squeezable cat treats
  • Dog treats
  • Special diet food (ie urinary health cat food)
  • Low sodium chicken broth
  • Low sodium canned chicken
  • Dog and cat toys
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • hydrogen peroxide
  • Oral thermometer
  • Unscented grease or petroleum jelly.
  • Benadryl
  • Disinfectant wipes
  • Dawn dish soap
  • Training pad
  • Clay cat litter (non-clumping)
  • Paper towels
  • Toilet paper
  • Garbage bags
