Green Bay, Wis. (WBAY) – It’s an online fundraiser that keeps giving more for your following on the Wisconsin Humane Society’s Facebook page.
“It’s one of our best fundraisers and it’s definitely the most fun fundraiser,” said Tanya Ditzman with the Wisconsin Humane Society.
A poorly designed pet fundraiser wrapped up today. For a $25 donation, people received a one-of-a-kind masterpiece drawing of their pet by one of the 200 participating volunteers this year. The artistry ranges from Picasso to well, you know, it’s all good fun.
“The best part for me was that I’m doing a personal tour of the fundraiser and so whether you’re learning, even the drawings that I did myself, you know Moxie is a cat that the Wisconsin Humane Society adopted. And then to see the reaction when you post it,” Ditzman said. “A lot of times you’re very nervous and scared but then when you see that, like no laughing out loud ‘that was hilarious’ ‘that was great’ ‘thanks a lot’ it’s rewarding. It was very rewarding. “
Funds raised will help with one of the humane society’s biggest expenses: veterinarian expenses.
“All the animals we have in our adoption program take the same amount of time to get adopted, but they’re all spayed and neutered and vaccinated and microchipped. So all those costs, we’re not under an umbrella group. Or we don’t get regular government funding. So really, we rely on fundraisers like them to be able to care for the animals and the people who love them.
Even one of the resident dogs on the Green Bay campus joined in on the fun on TikTok. With some Zoomies in tow, Gotti found some prints to work on for a fundraiser.
“So he’s now not only Godfather Gotti, he’s also Picasso Gotti.”
Gotti’s perfect home would be just that and an animal lover who likes to sit on the couch.
