Hue-A-Heart Pet Shelter
Dog of the week
Meet Axel, a seven-month-old blonde Cattle Dog mix. Axel is just over 40 pounds right now, but he’s only a puppy, so he’s still growing. Axel is potty trained but still has accidents if not taken out for long periods of time.
Axel, along with his brother and mother, was brought to the shelter on January 16, 2024. This handsome boy is a great puppy. He has his moments of play.
Axel walks well on a leash, but when he goes potty, he suddenly has a burst of energy.
He is still shy when meeting new dogs but is very willing to make new friends with proper introduction. As with any shelter dog, it may take some time to adjust to a new place.
Cat of the week
This week’s featured cat is an adorable boy named Tux. He is a handsome black and white tuxedo, and his date of birth is July 1, 2021.
Tux came to the shelter when his human mother had to go into hospice and could no longer care for him.
Although she was devastated, she wanted to make sure she would be well taken care of. The shelter takes him in and after a short adjustment where he hides a lot, Tux is a sweet and sometimes vocal guy.
He is a smuggler and loves to cuddle in your lap. He never went out, lived with his mother all his life.
If you would like to meet Tux, Axel, or one of our other adopters, please call the shelter at 870-449-7387 or 657 in Yaleville during our normal business hours, Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Grab it on Highway 202 West. 3 pm Hope to see you soon!
