Nearly a dozen exotic pets have been rescued in Colombia after their owners died suddenly.

A number of exotic animals will be up for adoption this weekend after they were taken from a home where an owner died.

According to a release from Forgotten Friends Reptile Sanctuary, they were contacted about a man who died unexpectedly at his home in Columbia over the weekend.

With a passion for the wretched creatures, sanctuary staff say the man kept the animals in good health and they “could tell they were well cared for and loved.”

After speaking with the building manager, the team arrived at the man’s home in downtown Columbia and rescued all the animals.

The man’s family told staff they wanted the reptile to go to a loving home because that’s what he wanted.

Forgotten Friends says there will be a special adoption event for the animals on Saturday because they don’t have room to keep them all.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at That Fish Place That Pet Place in Lancaster.

More information about the event can be found here. Here.
