These pets are ready to settle into their forever home — your place.

Tootsie, number A511888, needs a patient family to help her open.

Tootsie is a diamond in the rough. She is a 7-year-old pit bull mix whose shy past was hard for many to see past.

Like many dogs that are a little fearful, Tootsie can be uncomfortable with new things. He needs some time and space to explore the setting and people of the novel. Patience is key for a dog like this, and patience pays off as she becomes best friends with the Pasadena Humane volunteers who spend a little time with her.

Tootsie has been spending time with a foster family and has made herself at home surprisingly quickly. He has a favorite comfy bed and has found the perfect spot to bask in the afternoon sun. She is house trained and knows some training cues.

This shy girl will benefit from a quiet home where she can adjust to her surroundings, but once she’s settled in, Tootsie will be the star we catch glimpses of every day!

Tootsie qualifies for the “Seniors for Seniors” program, so her adoption fee is waived for any adopter age 60 or older.

The regular dog adoption fee is $150. All dog adoptions include spay or neuter, microchip and age-appropriate vaccines.

View photos of adoptable pets and schedule an adoption appointment on the website. Adoptions are by appointment only, and new adoption appointments are available on Sundays and Wednesdays at 10am.

Pets may not be available for adoption and may not be placed through phone calls or emails to potential adopters. pasadenahumane.org

Chat, number A511902, is Mr. Popular.

Chat is the life of the party wherever it goes! This beautiful 2-year-old extroverted husky is ready to make you your new best friend forever.

Chet knows how to work a room. He gets attention from adults, children and other dogs. He’s happiest when someone is petting him, brushing his luxurious coat, or, if you’re a dog, playing with him! He wants to play with almost every dog he sees!

Chet appears to be house trained, and is working on training cues with volunteers at Pasadena Humane. He’s not particularly impressed with treats, but he hasn’t found a toy he doesn’t love and will go through all his tricks until you give it to him.

Chet is excitable, so it would be nice to have another big dog to play with. He has quickly bonded with some of the dogs he has spent time with during field trips.

Chet is an all-around fun friend and he’s ready to brighten up your days!

Gringo, a friendly, healthy senior cat and is up for adoption.

Gringo, age 6, is just about purr-fect. He sports a beautiful flame point fur coat, exotic green eyes and is affectionate and friendly with everyone, even other cats. In addition, he is healthy and fully vetted and microchipped.

He will do best with someone who works from home to give him lots of love and attention. A couple or single person would be ideal. A friendly resident cat would also be nice. He had been waiting so long for someone to adopt him. He is such a nice boy. Check out more Gringo photos and a cute video on the website.
