KCAS Pets of the Week: Hennefer and Sandy

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOD) — This week’s featured adoptable pets from the Kent County Animal Shelter are an outgoing dog and a calm chicken.

Hennefer Gardner is a mature bard rock chicken. He was taken as a stray and brought to an animal shelter.

Shelter staff hope someone will adopt Hanifer and add him to their existing herd.

Sandy is a 4-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix. She was found to be underweight and overweight in October. Shelter said she was very nervous and it took her a while to come around. Once she did, she turned into an outgoing and confident dog.

“KCAS is thrilled to be a part of Sandy finding her true self, but as much as they love this sweet girl, they want her to experience a real home,” Shelter said in a statement. ” “From living on the streets to living in a shelter, Sandy is more than ready for a comfortable, stable dog life…”
