Free neuter surgery will be offered to Albuquerque residents only. Dogs and cats must weigh between two pounds and 90 pounds, and pet owners can make reservations for more than two dogs or cats to receive free service. Owners must also show proof of residency.

Appointments will be available online on Wednesday, January 10. Albuquerque dog and cat parents who want to sign up should visit the AWD website Had to take time.

According to the Animal Welfare Department, neutering pets can help reduce the number of pets in shelters, improve pet health, reduce unruly behavior and save on pet care costs. will
