JACKSON, MI — The Jackson County Animal Shelter, 3770 Spring Arbor Road, has many pets available for adoption.
Here are two of them.
Bubba Jay is a 2-year-old black American Staffordshire mix with white markings. Bubba was with a foster parent who had many great things to say about him.
They say he is house trained, knows some basic commands and loves to walk on a leash. He prefers to keep his people close, actually touching and hugging you.
Bubba responds very well to praise and is a kisser. He likes to run and play ball.
Hope is hoping her next home will be her forever home. She is a 5 year old, mostly black female cat with white markings that was surrendered by her owner.
She is a little timid at the shelter with all the new sounds, smells and people. But if you are patient with her, she will warm to you. And just look at her beautiful eyes, they are as big as the moon and golden.
Adopting a dog requires an online application. A meet and greet with the dog is also a must. A walkthrough of the cat’s room is available to test reactions. Dog adoption fees are $150 for medium and large dogs and $250 for puppies and small dogs, which includes vaccinations, microchips and sterilization.
Cat adoption fee is $60 for one cat, $80 for two, which includes applicable tests, vaccinations and spay/neuter.
Visiting the shelter is always best, but other adoption resources include online applications. https://www.co.jackson.mi.us/2302/Our-Adoptable-Animalsfaxing or emailing 517-780-4750 email@example.com.
