Animal care services find foster families for pets during the freeze.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Before the freeze, the city’s Animal Care Services took a Request for help To temporarily house pets to ensure they receive the care they need during extreme temperatures.

Since that call, the foster program has grown as 27 pet lovers have stepped up to provide homes for some furry friends.

Nine pets are still eligible for temporary adoption.

As always, the organization is always accepting applications for foster families.

If you are interested in fostering an animal before or during winter, you can email the department at or you can call 361-826-4630.

If you decide to take one or more, they will be sent home with the meal!
