Adoptable pets could be big winners at the event, which starts this week.

Sumter County Animal Services is holding its first Adopt-a-Bowl adoption event, which will run from February 7-12.

The adoption event will kick off with an Adopt-a-Bowl Party on Wednesday, February 7th from 1-3:30pm at The Villages Sumter County Service Center 7375 Powell Road, Wildwood.

With over 100 puppies available, there are many dogs looking for their forever homes. The same applies to dozens of cats in animal services. Adoptions are free.

If you are unsure or qualified to adopt a dog or cat, please consider fostering. Fostering a dog or cat, even just for a weekend, goes a long way to helping a dog’s mental well-being and making them more adoptable.

Animal Services is only open Thursday through Monday, noon to 6 p.m. It is currently closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, except for adoption-only dogs and cats to continue enrichment programs. Animal Services is located at 819 CR 529, Lake Panasoffkee. To adopt or foster, go to
