Adopt a pet in Alexandria: Meet Sapphire.

Alexandria, VA- Look no further than this gem of a dog! Sapphire is a 1 year old dog looking for a home where he can shine. We know from her time in the foster home that Sapphire is intelligent, almost completely house trained and crate trained. He quickly learned the routines of the foster home and settled into the family’s lifestyle without a hitch. She likes to play with yard zooms and toys. It’s easy to correct if she’s chewing on something she doesn’t care about. AWLA staff know from her previous family that she was with children and other animals. They think Neelam would make a wonderful companion for a variety of families. If Sapphire sounds like a real gem, meet her at the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria.

AWLA is located at 4101 Eisenhower Ave. Founded in 1946, AWLA has helped homeless animals and served as a resource. The organization remains an integral part of the community by providing adoption, spay and neuter assistance, education, and outreach opportunities. To learn more, visit alexandriaanimals.org.
