A fire damaged the Paradise Pet Cemetery at Lake Lawn Cemetery

New Orleans – Pet Cemetery, Pets of Heaven, at Lake Lawn Metairie Cemetery Their building was damaged in a fire on Sunday morning.

New Orleans Fire Department crews were on the scene at approximately 5:00 p.m. and quickly extinguished the fire.

Heaven’s Pets, located on the grounds of the historic Metairie Cemetery, is a pet funeral and bereavement center offering pet care services, funerals, grief resources and pet memorials.

The pet cemetery said in a statement that no one was injured in the fire and that repairs are planned. It is unclear how the fire started or how much damage was done to their cemetery services.

“We have taken steps to remain operational and continue to offer services to our families,” said Patrick McCausland, president of Heaven’s Pets. “We care deeply about our families and are here to support them in their journey after the loss of a pet.
